TLDR: Helldivers 2 is one of, if not the best Co-op game ever made. Helldivers 2 has fantastic immersion, gunplay and teamwork. There is incentive to do side missions because are rewarded with meaningful content. There are loads of mission variety so the great gameplay paired with the missions will make you want to play constantly. On the top of this great loop, the little things add up make this a near perfect game in my eyes.

And with friendly fire always on and bad guys far outnumbering my ragtag crew of four, dying at some point or another felt like a certainty. This was especially true when we attempted to complete a level on the hardest difficulty and were utterly grinded to a pulp, which was hilarious and a complete blast even in humbling defeat. I’m really looking forward to seeing if I can actually best one of these levels once my character’s been properly leveled.

For $quarenta, I didn’t expect to have this much fun. It’s a game that’s completely unapologetically made for enjoyment as a co-op shooter and it completely works that way. It’s a perfect mix of moment-to-moment gameplay and teamwork as playing with a group is very rewarding.

It's still a tense, communication-based game, but it feels designed to generate memorable gameplay - and I think it succeeds. Both the PS5 and PC versions of Helldivers 2 provide a good experience, and the game is attractive enough for Helldivers 2 Gameplay a large-scale multiplayer shooter. I would like to see some additional features on PC though: temporal upsamplers are a must-have in my opinion, and frame generation would be great as well. The 1080p resolution on PS5 in performance mode is bound to be a source of controversy too, but I think it's a sensible trade-off given how taxing this game can be. Perhaps experimentation with FSR 2 might yield decent results, especially considering the unimpressive quality of the existing TAA, but this is a tough game to run at high resolutions. So Helldivers 2 is a compelling multiplayer package, and it's technically sound as well. Players looking for a fresh co-op experience are unlikely to be disappointed.

Something that's important to note, though, is that only the amount of mobs is affected by this scaling. The types of units that spawn are still the same, as that's dictated by the difficulty you choose to play on.
